It began with one nursery in Haslingden, and grew into a family.
Mi Nurseries started with Hazelwood Nursery in the heart of Haslingden, built on a simple belief: that high quality childcare should be built on genuine relationships, trust within the community and a deep understanding of what children need to grow and flourish. As more families embraced our approach, we opened Beacon Lights and Tadis House in Blackburn, and Meadowbrook in Accrington.
The word “Mi” means “my” in Spanish. We chose it deliberately to reflect inclusivity — a simple word with a powerful meaning of belonging, pride and ownership. When a child says “this is my nursery”, they are describing a place where they feel valued, loved and celebrated for who they are.

What is Mi Nurseries?
Mi Nurseries is a family-run group of four day nurseries in Lancashire, offering early years childcare for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers from 3 months to 5 years.
Where are Mi Nurseries’ nurseries?
Beacon Lights (Preston New Road) and Tadis House (Whalley New Road) are in Blackburn, Meadowbrook (Whalley Road) is in Accrington, and Hazelwood (Bury Road) is in Haslingden.
Do you offer funded childcare?
Yes. All four nurseries offer funded places, including 15 hours for every 3- and 4-year-old and up to 30 hours for eligible working parents of children from 9 months old.
Are your nurseries rated by Ofsted?
All four are registered with Ofsted. Hazelwood (June 2025) and Beacon Lights (August 2025) are both rated Good. Tadis House and Meadowbrook opened more recently and are awaiting their first inspections.
What are your opening hours?
Our nurseries are open Monday to Friday during term time. Hazelwood, Tadis House and Meadowbrook open 7:30am to 6pm, and Beacon Lights 8am to 6pm. Each nursery publishes its term dates on our Term times page.
Are you taking nursery admissions for 2026?
Yes. Nursery admissions for 2026 are open at all four nurseries. Register your interest or contact your nursery, and we will arrange a visit and talk you through places and funded childcare hours.

Do you have nurseries in Nelson or Greater Manchester?
Yes, two new nurseries are opening soon: Cooper Hall in Nelson, Lancashire, and Rowan House in Bolton, Greater Manchester, our first in Greater Manchester. Both will care for babies to 5, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm. Register your interest on their pages to hear first.
