How do I apply for funded childcare in Blackburn?
Working parents apply for 15 or 30 funded hours on GOV.UK (opens in a new tab) from when their child is 23 weeks old, then give us their 11-digit code. For a 2-year-old getting extra support, apply to Blackburn with Darwen (opens in a new tab). For 3- and 4-year-olds, we claim the universal 15 hours for you when you register.
How much does nursery cost in Blackburn?
It depends on your child’s age, the sessions you need and how much funding you qualify for, so we give every family an exact figure. Funded hours reduce what you pay, and Tax-Free Childcare can cover 20% of the rest. Call 01254 800110 for a quote.
Can I use 30 funded hours at a term-time nursery?
Yes. Funded hours are given for 38 weeks a year, the same as the school year, so they fit a term-time nursery: you use your funded hours in the weeks the nursery is open. See our term dates.
