We are not a chain. Mi Nurseries is a family-run group of four settings, each small enough that every child is known by name.
It started with Hazelwood, in Haslingden
Our story began with Hazelwood Nursery in the heart of Haslingden, built on a simple but powerful belief: that high quality childcare should be built on genuine relationships, trust within the community and a deep understanding of what children need to grow and flourish.
As more families embraced our approach, we grew. Beacon Lights and Tadis House opened in Blackburn, and Meadowbrook in Accrington — each one keeping the same homely feel that made the first nursery work.
Why “Mi”?
The word “Mi” means “my” in Spanish. We chose it deliberately to reflect inclusivity — a simple word with a powerful meaning of belonging, pride and ownership.
When a child says “this is my nursery”, they are describing a place where they feel valued, loved and celebrated for exactly who they are. That is the whole ambition, in one small word.
